The problem with the band aid solutions in the instances of heartburn or indigestion is that they are just that, masking the problem which will ultimately have to be dealt with or there will be serious consequences where medical intervention will be required.

Taking any product which stops the acid making process (or rather appears to stop it) is doing you a disservice long term.

The body is designed to make acid to cope with both food and information breakdown, mask it by stopping it coming up out of the stomach with some kind of barrier only means the body is quickly making more which is stopped from doing its job.

We now know for example that stomach ulcers are actually due to what is referred to as stress where the acid has started to erode the stomach lining – this is of course an extreme example, but when we continue to use these band aids something has to give.

So if you know of a particular food you could blame on your discomfort you could start by thinking back to the first time you experienced it and have a look at what else was going on at the time. Better still, find a natural therapist who can do this for you, or learn how to question yourself which is not as hard as it sounds.
